Christopher is a senior pursuing a B.A. in Theatre Education with a minor in Secondary Education. He has been enthralled with Theatre since third grade when he would watch the UIL One-Act rehearsals at the high school where his mother was a teacher. Christopher is one of those weird people that enjoys mathematics and science. Christopher once stated: "I was going to minor in math, but then I realized how much math I would have to take." Christopher enjoys both the artistic and technical aspects of theatre. He has been seen in such performances including Black Elk Speaks, Our Country's Good, A Christmas Carol, Jekyll and Hyde, Grease, and in Scapino, or The Trickster. He has been involved in the technical aspects of almost every show UNT produced since his arrival. His hobbies include reading Harry Potter, cooking, watching movies, and maintaining the UP website.

Steph is thrilled to be Secretary this year. As a senior at the U of NT, she is working hard to complete her B.A in Theatre Arts with a minor in Education. You may recognize her from her award winning portrayal of Helen in Baby with the Bathwater or from her old skool credits as a thunderduck from Richland College, including Mammy in Cripple of Inishmann, Marlena in Moby Duck, Lady Sneerwell in School for Scandal, and herself in A Night of Improv. When she is not performing on stage, she enjoys directing shows such as The Wizard of Oz, Time Flies, and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. Other exciting theatrical experiences include stage managing for WingSpan Theatre Company during the annual FIT and singing at many different charity events, weddings and Bar Mitzvahs. After graduation, Stephanie plans on moving to California, New York or Chicago, depending on which way the wind blows her by the end of the semester. BLOO is currently a sophomore at UNT who is going after the gold—the gold being his Bachelor’s in Theatre with a Minor in Women's Studies. (Women's Studies is a legitimate minor!) He is an avid thespian and liberal activist who plans on relocating to New York after graduation to make it big before the tsunami strikes! He has been active in the Atlanta theatrical circuit working with The Alliance Theater and the Push Push Theater. He keeps busy with the UNT theatre department by taking classes and helping with shows (someday I'll be in one). Also, BLOO is a semi-accomplished playwright with 5 completed plays under his belt, two—“Los(t) Angel(es)” and “Juxtaposition”—made the semi-finals in the National Young Playwrights competition. He has and will continue using his love of theater and activism to merge the two so that he can, through the arts, change the world for the better. “I would like to quote my 10th grade history teacher, Mrs. Sarah Chhablani, “’Bad things happen when good people do nothing.’”

Michael  is a senior theatre major. He hopes to use this degree to go into playwriting and television writing. For University Players, he has performed in I Hate Hamlet and Loves Labours Lost. Currently, Michael is a member/writer for the comedy troupe Table for Six.

Dr. Garcia has been involved in theatre education as a theatre teacher, theatre-for-youth director, textbook consultant, and researcher. His publications have appeared in Youth Theatre Journal, Stage of the Art, Research in Drama Education, Multicultural Perspectives, and Teaching & Learning: The Journal of Natural Inquiry. In addition to numerous published articles, he has presented papers that address issues of diversity in teacher education at international conferences in Jordan, Great Britain, and Switzerland. He was selected as a recipient of UNT’s Developing Scholars Award for 1999-2000, received UNT’s 1999 Student Association Honor Professor Award, and named by the students in UNT’s Honors Program as the 1998-99 Outstanding Faculty Member. Most recently, he received the prestigious 2000 Barbara Salisbury Wills Alliance Award for his continued service to the American Alliance for Theatre & Education. He has been a journal editor for Stage of the Art and is currently co-editor of Youth Theatre Journal.
