Overview
The Society of
Plastics Engineers is a professional organization that advances the
technology of Polymeric Based Materials and offers student chapters an
introduction to members of the plastics industry. It provides the
student with the exposure to industry that is so valuable when seeking
employment.
The North Texas Student Chapter of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE)
was created in February of 1995. It provides contact between its members
and industry, organizes visits to industrial plants, invites leaders
from companies to make presentations before the Chapter, arranges for
member participation in the Annual Technical Conference of SPE (ANTEC),
the Regional Technical Conferences (RETECs), and helps members to make
research presentations at the International Conferences on Polymer
Characterization. This chapter is a part of the society which
constitutes of members representing 5 of the 7 continents.
The student chapter arranges regular tours to
the local plastic industries with the help of South Texas Section of SPE,
the Department of Materials Science
and the Univeristy.If you are from a

- In 2006, the south section of SPE awarded a total of $3000 in
scholarship. more

Pendse, recipient of the SPE
scholarship from the South Section. (2004)
- Ajit Ranade, Polymer Modifiers and Additives, 1st
prize at the Annual Technology Conference (2003)
- Prakaipetch Punchaipetch, Polymer Modifiers and
