First Flight Week Events at the Wesley Center
Sunday
August 17th - 7 pm - BAND CONCERT ON THE LAWN
Check out our awesome performance band "Chi Rho." Hear about our choir and other musical offerings while enjoying FREE grilled hotdogs and hamburgers. If you would like to help set up please come by at 5:30 pm!
Monday
August 18 - 7 pm - RECREATION AND OPEN NET VOLLEYBALL
In the backyard of the Denton Wesley Foundation we have our very own volleyball court. So all you volleyball lovers, join us for a "spiking" good time! Find our about other opportunities to play sports and enjoy recreation at the Wesley Center ~ drinks and snacks provided.
Tuesday
August 19 - 7 pm - DINNER, SODAS AND A MOVIE
You are invited for dinner and sodas. After dinner we will show a recently released movie onthe big screen in the Great Hall. We will provide all of our guests with a calendar of Fall Semester social events at the Wesley Center.
August 19 - 8 pm - Serraphim Choir practice will kickoff. All are welcome to join the choir. We sing weekly at Tuesday Night Worship, and tour in the Spring.
Thursday
August 21 - 7 pm - MISSION AND OUT-REACH AT THE WESLEY
We travel all over the world and have a great time making a difference in peoples. lives. Come join us for a meal and see a video of our mission trips to Afirca, Mexico and Louisiana. Find out ways you can get involved in helping people in the Denton community as well as abroad.
Sunday
August 24th - 11 am - WORSHIP AT FIRST UMC DENTON
Join the Wesley foundation and First United methodist Church of Denton for church on Sunday Morning at 11 am. Welcome Univeristy students lunch following worship. FUMC Denton is located at 201 S. Locust, just south of the Denton Square.
Tuesday
August 26th - 8pm - OPENING WORSHIP AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL
"Tuesday Night Togeter" is a contemporary time of worship and praise in the Great Hall each week. All are welcome and bring your friends. Please fell free to come by earlier and socialize and get to know everyone beforehand.
The Denton Wesley Foundation/United methodist Student Center is located at 1501 Maple Street between the University of North Texas dorms Maple and Kerr Halls.
During first flight week the Center will be open daily from Noon until evening for volleyball, pool, foosball, tv, computer use, and just hanging out.
