Committees
The Executive Committee

The Executive Committee (EC) is the largest committee within SIG and would also be known as the "general assembly". It is comprised of ALL SIG members, whether active in a specific committee or not, and meets monthly. As a member of SIG and the Executive Committee, students have the opportunity to hear from professionals in the investments industry as guest speakers, attend site visits to corporate headquarters, and be actively involved in all functions of this organization.

The main function of the Executive Committee is to overview all decisions of SIG and vote on the selection of stocks presented by the analysts in the Portfolio Management Committee. The EC also votes on the election of candidates to the Board of Directors, The Administrative Board, and to changes to the constitution or bylaws.

The investment decisions, which first must successfully pass the PMC review, are then presented to the Executive Committee for voting. The Analyst-team covering this stock will provide a "Buy, Sell, or Hold" recommendation to the EC. This recommendation is based upon the Analyst-team' comprehensive research and evaluation and should be taken into serious consideration for voting. However, as a member of the EC, the vote is yours to make based upon the Analysts presentation and your view of this investment.

    Meetings:
  • The first Spring 2008 EC meeting will be in Terrill Hall 120 on January 29th @ 5-6:15pm
  • *If Attendance is required for you class, be sure to sign the attendance sheet!
