OVERVIEW

In the near future, a nuclear holocaust destroys all but a handful of humanity. In the harsh, apocalyptic wasteland that remains, only strength is important. War rages and the strong prey upon the weak. Enter Kenshiro, the Fist of the North Star. He and his girlfriend Julia are traveling across the wasteland when they are attacked by Ken's old friend Shin. Ken is nearly killed leaving him with seven wounds, and Julia is kidnapped. Ken spends the rest of the film trying to get Julia back from first Shin, and then his insanely powerful brother Raoh,..

Along the way, Ken meets a number of interesting characters and has some pretty gorey fights. My favorite characters would have to be Raoh, and Rei, just because of the great amounts of violence that they do. Ken is of course really cool. The actor who does his voice in the Streamline English dub is the same guy who did the voice of Shredder in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. GROUP DISCUSSION

Kevin/Fritz - Despite it's many small flaws, I happen to dearly love Fist of the North Star / Hokuto no Ken. It is just so much fun. Violent and gorey; full of curse words and bearing a parental warning label, this was always such a taboo movie to watch. Lots of cool story in it too. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of info available on the internet about this older movie.
