LISSA Meeting Minutes
March 27, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. The following members attended:

Christine Willard

Business:

1. Hannah Guthrie will find out about reserving a spot at South Lakes Park for the LISSA picnic that is to be held April 26, 2008 at 5:30 pm.

2. Tickets will be available for SLIS students to attend the TLA alumni dinner April 17, 2008 for $20.

3. Nominations should begin for the Fall 2008-Spring 2009 LISSA officers. Email nominations to untlissa@gmail.com. Elections will take place around April 30.

4. LISSA needs a student representative to attend UNT's alumni appreciation luncheon from 12-1pm on Friday, April 18.

5. LISSA is seeking two members to attend the TLA luncheon with speaker Jenna Bush on April 16, 2008.

6. LISSA decided not to set up a booth for University Day on April 4, 2008.

7. On Tuesday, April 15, 2008, LISSA is sponsoring and providing food at an event preceding the annual TLA conference. The event, featuring various speakers, will be at 6pm at the University Center in Dallas. President Artemida Kabashi will email students with more details.

8. President Artemida Kabashi reported the following information that she gathered at the monthly faculty meeting: This year there is a separate graduation ceremony for UNT graduate students, but there will be no hooding ceremony because of time restraints. UNT SLIS is opening cohorts in Virginia and Georgia. SLIS will move to Research Park in August.

9. The next meeting will take place April 24.
