LISSA Meeting Minutes

February 21, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. The following members attended:

Business:

1. LISSA is seeking volunteers to help at the annual Texas Library Association conference to be held in Dallas April 15-18. Remaining times to fill are Wednesday, April 16 from 9:30 to 1:30pm and Thursday, April 17 from 8:30-12:30pm. Students will be paid for the hours they work.

2. Tickets will be available for SLIS students to attend the TLA alumni dinner for $20.

3. The next Let's Talk event featuring Dr. Dale Thompson will take place March 27 at 7pm directly following a LISSA meeting at 6pm.

4. Dr. Chandler would like to have an event with speakers Tuesday, April 15 in Dallas.

5. LISSA member Hannah Guthrie reported that future LISSA speaker events cannot be broadcast live on the Web, but they can be filmed and later placed online and archived.

6. The LISSA spring picnic/potluck was scheduled for 5:30 pm on April 26 at South Lakes Park in Denton.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
