LISSA Meeting Minutes
January 17, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. The following members attended:

Business:

1. President Artemida Kabashi confirmed there will be no All School Day in Spring 2008 because of the TLA conference that will be held in Dallas. LISSA will encourage students to attend this event and will look into discount tickets to the UNT alumni reception.

2. LISSA plans to meet with new SLIS students from the spring Web Institute at an informal dinner that will occur at the Sweetwater Grill Saturday, January 19 from 5-6 pm.

3. LISSA meetings for the spring semester will be held the third Thursday of each month unless conflicts arise (spring break, etc.) in ISB 218 at 7 pm. Meetings are planned for February 21, March 27, and April 24.

4. LISSA will help Dr. Chandler with a project the week prior to the TLA conference in April.

5. LISSA will continue helping with the Lazerow Lectures and Let's Talk. Hannah Guthrie will inquire about streaming lectures live over the Web.

6. LISSA will have a spring picnic tentatively planned for Saturday, April 26.

7. Jennifer Lafleur asked LISSA to inquire about attending the Board of Advisors annual meeting.

8. Students are still wanted for participation in faculty committees. If interested, they should contact LISSA at untlissa@gmail.com.
