LISSA Meeting Minutes
February 28, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm. The following members attended:

Sarah Nelson, president
Lauren Ko, secretary
Jennifer Lafleur
Sean Fitzpatrick

Business:

1. LISSA officer elections will be held in the beginning of April. Interested students may nominate themselves or fellow students who would like to serve by sending their names to Sarah Nelson (sen0027@unt.edu).

2. SLIS faculty candidate Dr. June Abbas will give a presentation on the afternoon of March 1 from 1:30-2:45 pm in ISB 201.

3. There will be a lecture by UNT SLIS alum Kathryn Kitchen of Microsoft, Monday, March 5 from 6:30-8:30pm in ISB 201 on “User Experience and Collaboration: The Balance of Design and Communication.”

4. The All School Day theme is “Playing the Field: Different kinds of Libraries.” Speakers include Ellen Ko and Connie Moss—Coppell Public Library, Gale Harris—Lockheed Martin, Vanessa Perez—American Heart Association, David Schuster—Plano ISD. There will be one general session, two split sessions, and a town meeting to conclude.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 pm. Pizza was served.
