Business:

1. President Sarah Nelson reviewed the 2006 Fall All School Day and discussed plans for the Spring All School Day. Nearly fifty people attended the November 11 event, and many of them filled out evaluations to be used in planning for Spring. Possible topics for the next All School Day include: different types of libraries, different areas of librarianship (cataloging, reference, collection development, access services, etc.), how library jobs are changing due to technology, library instruction/information literacy and how librarians learn to be teachers, and medical librarianship. The idea of having All School Days in other cities was brought up.

2. Vice president Adrianne Jones asked for ideas for future guest chat speakers. Email her with ideas at ajones@lis.admin.unt.edu. Guest chat topics desired include librarians from different types of libraries, leadership, and library advocacy. We will tentatively have an academic librarian for January. Other possible speakers discussed include: Ellen Ko from Coppell Public Library, Michael Garrett (UNT graduate) on building library websites, and Beth from the San Antonio Conservation Library.

3. Students were asked to set up library visits/tours of different types of libraries for the spring semester. Possibilities include a tour of the UNT-Dallas Campus library or a tour of multiple libraries in one day. People who are willing to set up a library visit may contact Lauren Ko at ldk0002@unt.edu.

4. The possibility of having more chats and online meetings in the Spring semester was discussed.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 pm.
