ARTICLE I: KOREAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION
Section 1 :
The name given to this organization shall be known as
the “Korean Student Association at University of North
Texas"
ARTICLE II: PURPOSES OF ORGANIZATION
Section 2:
To promote mutual interests among all Korean students.
Section 3:
To help new-coming students adjust to the new
environment in Denton area.
Section 4:
To share the Korean culture with students from different
cultural background.
ARTICLE III: QUALIFICATION AND RIGHTS OF MEMBER
Section 5:
Membership shall be open to all Korean or
Korean-American students who are attending at UNT.
Section 6:
Types of memberships
A) Active member
B) Associate member
Section 7:
Eligibility of Membership
A) An active member must be a student who is enrolled at UNT.
B) An Associate member
a. Korean faculty or staff of UNT
b. Family of active member
c. A student who is enrolled
at the IELI
Section 8:
Membership may be obtained automatically by registering
through our web page and paying student activity fees.
Section 9:
As
an active member, one shall have rights to
A) nominate and vote in all elections ?
B) run as a candidate for any office in election
C) express his/her own opinions
Section 10:
As an
associate member, one shall have the same right
with an active member except voting power and being
nominated as an officer.
ARTICLE IV: GOVERNMENT
Section 11:
All officers must be UNT students in
good standing.
Section 12:
The officers of the organization shall consist
of
A) President
B) Vice president
C) Treasurer
D) Secretary
ARTICLE V: ADVISORS
Section 13:
The advisor shall be one faculty/staff member
in UNT
selected by this organization.
ARTICLE VI: DUTIES OF GOVERNMENT
Section 14:
The duties of the presidents
shall be
A) To call and preside over the executive committee and general
meeting
B) To be in charge of the coordination of all activities
of this organization
C) To have the authority to appoint all other officers except
vice president.
Section 15:
The duties of vice president shall be
A) To perform the duties of the president in his/her absence
B) To assist the president in the coordination of activities
of this organization.
Section 16:
The duties of the treasurer shall be to take
responsibility
for all financial transactions of this organization.
Section 17:
The duties of the secretary shall be to keep all records of
meetings, activities and important events.
ARTICLE VII: TERMS OF OFFICERS
Section 18:
The terms of all officers shall
begin immediately following
the annual election.
Section 19:
The duration of officer’s term shall be one
full academic
year.
ARTICLE VIII: ELECTION
Section 20:
Candidate for the president and vice
president may be
nominated by any member and must be approved by more than one member.
Section
21:
The president and the vice president must be elected by
secret ballot at the General Conference.
ARTICLE IX: AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION
Section 22:
Any changes amended
to the constitution must be made
by unanimous consent with all officers.
ARTICLE X: FINANCE
Section 23:
This organization is funded by the student
mandatory
activity fees.
Section 24:
This organization is financed by a budget given by
any
donations presented to the organization.
Section 25:
Finance may be managed
only by the President and
Treasurer.
ARTICLE X: MEETINGS
Section 26:
There are three conferences/meetings
A) The General Conference
B) Provisional Meeting
C) Officers Conference
Section 27:
A) The General Conference is held once in a year.
B) A provisional Meeting is held through the decisions of the officers.
C) Officer’s conference is held once a month, called by the President.
