Our Goal


The goal of FMA is to provide an oppurtunity for students interested in finance to "experience the knowledge" they recieve in the classroom.

 

How we meet this goal...


Speakers

FMA encourages members and nonmembers to attend regularly scheduled meetings to benifit from from our guest speakers. Many of the our special guests have shared personal success stories, insight into the business community, and ways students can prepare themselves for a changing world.

Corporate Field Trips

Dr. Steven Cole has been faithful to set up a field trip for FMA members to attend once a year. FMA has been excited to travel to Credit Unions, Banks, and other Financial Institutions. During these field trips stidents can talk with the companies executives and ask questions. in the past this has been an incredible time to make contacts in the business world.

National Meetings

Undoubtedly the greatest asset to this FMA Chapter are the trips around the United States to The Financial Manegement Associations Annual Leadership Conferance. In 1995 Missy Laqua and David Kypuros represented the UNT Chapter in Washington DC. In 1997 Steven Smith and David Kypuros represented UNT Chapter in Chicago, illinoi. At these leadership conferneces students are given the oppurtunity to meet other devoted students studying finance, here from distinguished financial professionals, and visit major financial institutions in the the visited city.
