Josh Bacon, Founding Father '96

Josh is a member of the North Texas A cappella Choir and North Texas Opera. He is also a member of the North Texas Grand Chorus.

Josh is the Rush Chairman and active member of the Social Committee and a member of the Honor Board. Josh is also very active in the Colony's programs and intramural sports.

Josh enjoys playing the guitar, reading, basketball, working on his truck. He also enjoys attending concerts of all types of music. In addition to that Josh is a history buff and likes to sight see.

To Josh, being a Delt is following his dreams and doing the best that he can to attain his goals. He never thought that he would join a fraternity; the ones he had experienced had not agreed with him, but after speaking with Kyle and Ned for the second time, he was hooked. Music takes up a large amount of time and he had plenty of new friends that he met earlier during the semester; so his docket was full. He wanted something more from college. He saw in the founding of a new fraternity to North Texas as that opportunity; a challenge he could not resist. Being a Delt also means tradition. While He was still interviewing to become a pledge, he told his mother that he was thinking about joining a fraternity, She asked, "which one?" Upon learning that it was Delta Tau Delta she laughed a motherly laugh and told him that his grandfather and great uncles were both Delts at the University of Texas. At this point he knew that his destiny lay with Delta Tau Delta. Both his grandfather and great uncle had died before he was born so he never had a clue that they were Delts.

Josh plans to stay active in the fraternity after chartering and to continue in his participation on the campus. He hopes to be an officer at some point and possibly President. For his community, Josh will participate in Adopt-A-School and Adopt-A-Spot. He hopes to stay and active member of Delta Tau Delta as long as He lives.
