Getting Through the College Years
My name is Sarah Seo. I graduated from UNT in May 2001. I would like to
share how Christian Students on campus helped me to get through my
college years.
First, I enjoyed the fellowship with other Christian seekers on campus.
I thought I was a desperate seeker of the Lord before, but it was so
encouraging to find some others who were also true lovers of Jesus
Christ our Lord. The fellowship with Christian Students in the Word of
God really helped me to focus my life on Him.
Second, the fellowship with Christian Students helped me to know the
truth of the Bible. I often met with them on campus for Bible studies
during my lunch hour, which really strengthened my daily living and
stirred up my appetite for the truth, as well as my love for the Lord.
As much as I treasured the time I spent on campus, I also enjoyed very
much the time I spent with families in their homes. These families, some
of whom are alumni of UNT, would invite us to their homes for meals and
fellowship. They took us into their homes and into their hearts. They
also became my family too.
Third, some of the students and families became my prayer partners. We
prayed for one another on a daily basis. Without their prayers and the
Lord’s supply of grace, I feel I would not have made it through college.
Many of my inward spiritual needs as well as a lot of my practical needs
were really met through the fellowship and care. In 2 Timothy 2:22, the
apostle Paul, says: “But flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness,
faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart”.
Thank the Lord we can pursue with those who call on the Lord out of a
pure heart.
