Growing in Christ When I came to UNT I did not have the knowledge and faith about God that I now have. I have been a Christian my entire life and, for the most part, did things out of obligation because it was the right thing to do. I was not quite sure where I stood in regards to my relationship with Christ; what I did know was that aside from schoolwork I wanted to study more about God. When I joined Christian Students I immediately gained a focus with God that I had never experienced before. I was more and more willing to take Him into my heart. As time went on my relationship with God was strengthened. At home meetings and gatherings I am also able to be around other Christians. Being around a good environment is helpful as well because I am able to share experiences with others, which I rarely did otherwise. I now rely on the Lord but through prayer and fellowship I learned that it was necessary to show myself to the Lord. Something that amazes me is how much of an impact the smallest amount of time makes. When talking about the Creator of our lives to the other girls at Bible study I am reminded of how fortunate I am to be where I am. When Bible study is over and I have to get back to homework I become more productive because I just enjoyed hearing the Word of God. Through Christian Students I have grown in my relationship with God and it becomes more and more fortified as I spend time fellowshipping with fellow believers in Christ. I now see that I was lost. However, God did not give up on me. It is difficult being a college student and when the going gets tough I have to remember one little phrase: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
