A God Who Shows Mercy

Upon coming to UNT, I was certainly happy to find other Christians pursuing the Lord. When I came to UNT, I joined a fraternity and the soccer team. But the most valuable thing to me in my college experience has been the relationship I have developed in Christians Students. These relationships are surely life long, even eternal.

As a seeker of the Lord, I was hoping to find a group of Christians who believed the fundamental truths of the Bible. I was set at ease to discover that Christian Students gives special attention to these fundamental truths and that they care for the complete revelation in the Bible. Also, I was happy to know that a bunch of Christians desired to grow in their love for Jesus. They’re not just seeking of the Bible in it’s knowledge but the Bible in it’s experience of the Lord Himself and that experience is becoming my fullest joy I have ever known. In saying this, it may sound that we are extremely spiritual and never get discouraged. However, fact of the matter is that we strongly need the Lord’s mercy to carry us on in the Christian faith. According to Romans 9:16, our gaining of Him as believers is not because we are choosing Him nor because we are pursuing Him but because God shows mercy.

I can honestly say that I am being shown His mercy and I can see His mercy working in the lives of others, including those in Christian Students. Seeking the Lord with them has greatly enriched my college experience.
