Made Alive in Christ through the Members
of His Body I was saved before coming to UNT and immediately began to look for a Christian group on campus. When I found Christian Students, I was very excited. I really enjoyed the college-age home meetings on Saturday evenings but my favorite time was probably meeting on campus to read the Bible and Christian ministry books together with other believers. This was a very encouraging time. I remember coming to meet with them while in a panic one day after late-night cramming for my bio-lab midterm. I had stayed up very late and still felt thoroughly unprepared. I wanted to cut the time short so I could study more even though I was very tired. I told these caring believers the whole story - what I had done to prepare for the test, the mistakes I had made while studying, and how tired and scared I was. We simply prayed. I felt much better and I did a lot better on the test than I expected, thanks to the Lord. Although this is an example of an extreme situation, just meeting with them in the Word of God on a regular basis helped me maintain my joy and love for the Lord in spite of what was swirling around me day by day. These times kept me inwardly refreshed and alive for the Lord. |
