Q:

Do I have to be Baptist?

A:

Absolutely not!  Many, including members of the BSM Leadership Team, are not Baptist.  The name “Baptist” indicates something about our heritage and the way our ministry is supported.

Q:

Are you a church?

A:

Definitely Not.  We are a ministry supported by dozens of area churches.  We encourage all students to be actively involved and serving in a local church

Q: How do I join?
A:

Just start coming!  We don’t have a membership, we just have events and people come.  Our events are open to anybody who wants to come.

Q: Can I come to the BSM between classes?
A:

YES!  Many students live off campus and chill at the building in between classes.  The building is open Monday through Friday for you to relax, study, play games, or hang out.  We have comfy couches, a kitchen & coke machine, a ping pong table, and a foosball table. It’s a great place to hang out and meet people.  We hope you will come by often!

Q: How can I get more involved?
A:

There are plenty of ways to get involved.  Just about everything at BSM is done by students who volunteer their time, and we can always use more help!  Join a small group; get involved in a ministry; volunteer at International Night; apply for summer missions; apply to join the Leadership Team.  There are lots of opportunities.

Q:

How can I join the Leadership Team?

A:

The BSM Leadership Team is a group of students who coordinate different ministries within the BSM.  Some are small group leaders or Bible study leaders; other lead ministries like Free Lunch and International Night.  Stop by the building and see James (the director) if your interested!

Q:

What if I’m a transfer student?

A:

Lots of transfer and graduate students come to the BSM.  Many join our leadership team in their first or second semester at UNT.  So don’t hesitate to get involved.

Q Do you do missions?
A

Yeah we do!  We do local mission projects that are organized by our Leadership Team each semester.  We do a mission project every spring break.  And every summer, we send UNT students on missions through GoNowMissions

Q Can I park in your lot?
A

Sorry!  We barely have room for the staff to park.  There is free 30 minute parking in the parking garage next door or meter parking just off of Welch Street.
