Membership

NT-ASIST is the only active ASIS&T chapter in Texas at this time. All students and others who share our interest in information science are welcome to participate in the projects and activities of this chapter.

Official membership in the chapter should also include membership in the national ASIS&T. The benefits of membership are described at http://www.asis.org/Join/about_asis.html.

NT ASIS&T Chapter dues are $10/year.
Student dues are $30/year for national ASIS&T, which includes one free SIG membership.

Non-students may refer to the ASIS&T web site at http://www.asis.org/Join to determine their level of membership. There are no NT-ASIST chapter dues for non-student members of ASIS&T.

Non-students and students who are not members of ASIS&T, but are interested in the field of Information Science are welcome to attend chapter meetings and participate on an informal, voluntary basis. Anyone with experience in the Information Science field who is interested in serving as a mentor and/or advisor is especially welcome.

NT-ASIST membership may include students from a variety of information-related programs:

Library and Information Science, at UNT and TWU
Business Computing Information Systems, College of Business
Computer Science, College of Arts & Sciences
Technology & Cognition, College of Education
Visual Arts
Environmental Science
Other programs in the College of Arts & Sciences

To become an NT-ASIST member, print out and complete the following form and return it to an NT-ASIST officer or advisor along with the $10 membership fee. The NT-ASIST mailbox is located in the copy room of the SLIS office. Printed membership forms are also available in the SLIS office and on the bulletin board in the main hallway.
